1. Keep it Fun. According to phychologist, a key to keeping with a routine is choosing an
activity that find fun. Do what you will do, rather than what you think you will do. Its better to
walk one mile a day and enjoy this activity rather than run two miles a week and dreed it.
2.Make it a Habit Results come from consistency, for a routine to stick, it must be an intergral
part of your daily routine. Try to work out the same time each day. This will soon lead to
exercise to becoming a priority.
3. Picture yourself exercising Visualize yourself having fun and enjoying your choosen
activity. This will lead to a positive mental attitude and will lead you a long way.
4. Have a goal Exercise with a goal in mind, this will help encourage you on those days you do
not feel like moving. Get in shape to participate in a walk to raise money for charity, pick a fun
run or community event to participate in a few months down the road, exercise to lose a few
pounds or to lower you blood pressure a few points.
5. Buddy Up Train with a professional trainer, a spouse, a friend, a child, a pet etc... just the fact
that you have someone else counting on you to show up and exercise increases our
accountability and motivation.
6. Mix it up try a new activity from time to time, take an aerobics class or yoga there are many
indoor and outdoor activities that can be fun and break up your normal routine.
So good luck on sticking with your goals!
